Marina Sulima

an artist born in Moldova, working and living in Groningen, The Netherlands.

has graduated from Minerva Academy with Parcelpaedia- a film and an illustrated essay that respond to Italy Syndrome- a depression specific to Eastern European women who work as caregivers in Italy. Parcelpaedia focuses on the parcels sent home by Moldovan caregivers and speculates a whole practice of studying parcels in order to reveal the complexity of the migration of care.

uses illustration, sculpture, animation and film to tell stories of marginalized people and invisible non-humans, like a parcel, a shrimp’s ear, a rock or a tomato in a globalized and ecologically damaged world.

always keen to talk about animations, projects, plants and George Saunder's stories.
